ABOUT THE
INSTRUCTORS

 


Learn the basics of non-linear editing through practical application. 

Students will learn to perform functions such as:

*Editing in the timeline

*Trim techniques

*Setting markers

*Logging and capturing footage

*Applying transitions, titles, and audio

*Importing and exporting functionalities

*How to establish a workflow.

This will be a great opportunity for students who want to learn the basics of Final Cut Pro. The class will be fun, interactive and hands-on every step of the way.


MARK LEEKE
has been in broadcasting for over 20 years. He started at CNN Headline News in Atlanta, GA. At CNN, Mark worked as a TD/Director and as an Editor. In 1997, he moved to Tokyo, Japan to work for Reuters News Service where he directed live newscasts in English and Japanese, shot video using multi-camera formats, and edited with Media 100 and Final Cut.

In 2003, Mark returned to the US to work for Comcast in Boston, MA where he worked as a Director for their CN8 network start up. Three years later, he returned home to Washington to teach at DCTV. Mark offers classes in Production, Studio Tech, Field Tech, and Final Cut.


 


MONIQUE JETER
, an independent producer, director, writer and editor has 12 years of experience working with the best documentary, feature and commercial filmmakers in the business. She currently manages her own production company, Euqinom Productions, and works with a blue-chip roster of clients in the long-form feature, documentary, program packaging, short-form production, new media and related fields.

Ms. Jeter received her degree in Communication from Norfolk State University and later went on to study Media Management and Film Production at The New York Institute of Technology.

 

REFUND POLICY:
If you cancel your registration for a class in writing one week before the session, then you will receive a refund, minus a $15 drop fee. You must email your notice to john@dcfilminstitute.org. Refunds will be issued via PayPal. We cannot give credit toward future classes. The WFI reserves the right to drop classes that are undersubscribed. In such case, a full refund will be issued.
